Last Things Thursday

Here are some of the last things for me this week!

1. Last Song on the iPod:


I used to never listen to Pandora and now I’ve become obsessed! Specifically with Lee Brice Station. Love him.

2. Last workout:


I lifted yesterday arms & abs from the live fit trainer and then did 20 minutes of intervals on the stationary bike.

3. Last amazing food find:


I’ve been dying to have these and my favorite grocery store FINALLY sells them! I was so excited so now I basically add it to everything! It’s definitely been myΒ favorite add in to shakes. It’s awesome in the pudding shakes and great when added to froyo shakes also πŸ™‚

4. Latest hair style

I’m glad after 23 years I’ve finally figured out how to do my hair some other way. I really just taught myself how to french braid this year. Better late than never!

5. Last Meal


Chiliiiiii! and cornbread! Noms…mom makes the best! oh and of course i gotta cover it in cheese! πŸ™‚

Last Things Thursday

Yay for another installment of Last Things Thursday! This means another random post of all this crap stuffΒ I just did. Lucky you.

Last Breakfast:

So this week was my first time experimenting with overnight oats! I wasn’t sure about them and their texture (I can be super weird about texture of foods) but all I can say is why haven’t I done this sooner!? After all I have always loved oatmeal. Plus it’s been fantastic for when I’ve been working at 7am and just need something to take to eat when I get there. Perfecttt.

My recipe:

  • 1/2 Cup of Oats
  • 1/2 Cup of almond milk
  • Pinch of unsweetened coconut
  • 2 TBSP (heaping) of vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp of Chia Seeds
  • A dash of cinnamon (or if you’re like me 2 or 3 or 4…)
  • A little agave depending on how sweet you like things
  • Top with sliced almonds πŸ™‚

Voila! Enjoy!

Last Different Food Try:

If you notice besides the first time trying Overnight Oats…I bought chia seeds this week! have to say..i am worried about a chia pet in my stomach… JK but seriously- can’t even taste them so hey- if their healthy I’m all in.

Last gun show workout:

After work I stayed and did the Biceps and Back from Live Fit Trainer Week 2…I’m getting there! πŸ™‚ I also ran 2.33 miles earlier between jobs!

You may hate her. and you most definitely may hate this song, but it’s been on repeat a lot. Mostly for the oooooooOOOOO part…sorry i’m not sorry.


That being said..lastly it is the 23rd of this month and that means it’s 23 Paws from the lovely Cinnamon!

Back to Lifting

Happy Tuesday!

So many things I forgot about traditional lifting. Last week I decided I would attempt to start the Live Fit Trainer from Jamie Eason. I had attempted before- but always started and then never kept going with it. (Why I thought starting a program over the summer with two vacations was a good idea- I have no idea..) So I’m one week in and going strong! What I’ve remembered so far.

1. When you haven’t done any traditional lifting in ohhhh like a year- you will be very, very sore.

Although I wasn’t lifting heavy really for the start of this program, the chest and triceps workout made me sore for a good 2 days afterwards. I just did legs yesterday and my hip flexors and quads are so tired walking up 5 stairs makes me have to stop and take a break lol.

2. How much I love to put my headphones out and rep it!

I forgot how much lifting makes me feel kinda…well, powerful πŸ˜‰ Add in Metallica Justin Bieber music blasting in my ears and I get into beast mode!

3. Strength is actually my forte.

Strength is something I have naturally (not to toot my own horn AT ALL- just how I’m built). I forget this considering, I tend to dabble in the endurance world with my running and cycling- which is something I have to work HARD to be anywhere decent at. (And long distance running is still a challenge) My body naturally is more powerful than speedy making lifting a good fit for me.

4. I enjoy having a workout already set up for me.


Like a lot. I am not one to ever have a set training plan and blah..blah. I like to make up workouts or circuits at times- but this is nice that someone else has already done that work and I just show up at the gym and do it. No planning ahead- no nothin’.

5. I like that I can feel the work I did for a long time after I’m done my lifting.

Can you say jell-o legs!? and arms..and everything! You can definitely tell you worked out after a solid lifting session!

Now I’m not sure of its a great thing to lift while also training on the bike and such but like I said I don’t follow training plans ever. But I do have some races (duathlons) coming up in September and October! πŸ™‚ more on that later!!!!!

Friday Things

Oh Friday…i Honestly don’t have much today. This week has been crazy..beyond belief. Full time coaching 8-1:30ish and working each evening makes for a tired, tired girl.

I was able to get some solid lifting sessions in this week and I’m so. friggin. sore. That’s what you get for taking time off front that. I have exercise ADD. seriously.


Coaching is super fun! I’m having a blast so far this year. And you know how I’ve been complaining about not being able to play field hockey anymore WELL I found a league to play in the fall!!! WHATTTT!? YAY!



Good news: Drew got a real life grown up job!! YAY! He’s going to be an Athletic Trainer at a Prep School in Maryland. Bad news…he’s 4 hours away from me. Cue depressing music, example: Enya .

Okay just kidding. Love him..I”ll be visiting because he basically lives at the beach now. Seriously!? Who’s life is like that!

Final Note: I’m going to my 5 year high school reunion tonight. Kind of had to help plan it. I honestly hope people show up cause it was expensive. And annoying.

Last workout:

Yesterday after work at the gym, I just stayed to do a good Chest and Triceps workout from Live Fit trainer. Wow can you say jello arms! i’m dying sore. I ended that with a 15 minutes interval workout on the Stairsofdeath Stair mill!

Last Meal I had

This just happened to be a sad turkey sandwich! let’s just say I haven’t had much time at home this week. I’ve been coaching all day and going to work at night…would be nice to be home for a meal for once…I think tonight that may actually happen!

Last snack

My go to snack in my lunches/dinners this week has been carrots, green peppers, and cheese slices! With ranch of course πŸ™‚
