Shutting my brain off!

Hi everyone… πŸ™‚ Wednesday woo!

So, I’ve been getting up for my workouts this week no problem! Which I’m very excited about. However, the one thing I am having issues with this week is being absolutely exhausted and ready for bed at 9pm and not being able to turn my brain OFF.

This is making me exhausted! I feel like once I lay down I think about a million things and fidget and it takes me so much longer to fall asleep. I mean, once I’m asleep I’m golden, but relaxing before bed has be TOUGH! I am constantly thinking of the 4 million things I have to do tomorrow. I’m sure many, many of you feel the exact same way. My brain hurts. Seriously.

So because of this I’m sure you’ve noticed I just will not be blogging as much and I’m sure you’re all okay with that haha. I just hate forcing blog posts when I”m tired and cranky and honestly have nothing to talk about. I’d rather write some posts that actually have content (okay..I pretty much always ramble) than some just to write them. Sometimes my only time for myself is at the end of the day, besides at the gym.

 

Speaking of gym..lifting has been awesome. If I feel confident enough I will update you on my progress πŸ˜‰ The only thing is I don’t have a lot of time to do cardio so I’ve been missing out the past few days! I hate when I don’t get some form of it in. When I do have time I’ve been doing the stair mill on intervals to get the most bang for my buck!

 

ANYWAYS, back to the main point. I am hoping that my routine settles in soon and I can somehow manage to relax my brain at night time. Meditation perhaps? Yoga?? I would love to find another yoga DVD that is more ‘zen’ like since my Jillian DVD is more of a workout. Although it has to be short so I can hold my concentration ha!

I’m back!

Well, I’m finally home from vacation! It was such an amazingly awesome time! I won’t get into many details yet cause I’ll be writing a full post for tomorrow, but let’s just say that it was just what I needed..a little R & R and time to not have a schedule or worries. I got to spend more than 2 days in a row with my family and Drew, too! Which is nice because we don’t see each other much these days. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen a few pics πŸ˜‰

We spent most mornings on a awesome FLAT bike ride, which really helped me to build some mileage.. and then we came back to watch the Tour de France! πŸ™‚ (Actually what I am doing right now…love it!) I have watched before BUT this was before I had really considered myself a “cyclist” per say! πŸ˜‰ It really has a different meaning to me. My favorite athlete on there is Mark Cavendish from Great Britain. (I’ll let you figure out why………oh,Β HI DREW! πŸ˜‰ ) He’s the sprinter for team Sky. He’s been involved in some crashes and has been a little behind but hopefully he wins some more sprints.

It’s safe to say for me that I definitely got more of a tan from biking than I did from the beach…haha whoops! can’t say i’m upset about that. Can’t wait to update you tomorrow on my cycling progress i made last week! πŸ™‚ but as I said before, that will be all up tomorrow!

Mom also got a new bike so we are headed out to do a pretty good bike ride at home…will be interesting now that I’ll be back to hills!

Hot, Hot, HOT! and PB Crave Giveaway!

Holy smokes…literally. It’s quite the scorcher at my house today. It feels like 95 today! I’m not complaining at all…I’d take this over being cold any day πŸ™‚

This morning I did a 10 mile bike ride with my Dad and we followed that up with a one mile loop. The bike ride actually felt great cause our route is mostly in the shade and the breeze was nice.

However, getting off the bike and running felt like a 20 degree temperature increase! After this I did an Bikini Abs and Bikini Booty from my Tone It Up DVD. It was quite a workout- my quads were KILLING me by the end..just the way I like it πŸ˜‰

Now to the GOOD STUFF! I have an AWESOME giveaway for you! I am a lover of all things peanut butter! I can eat it with a spoon and thats it! The great people from PB Crave graciously sent me a sample pack of all of their amazing flavored peanut butters. As soon as I got theses I ripped open the lids and got a spoon out πŸ™‚ There’s little I love more than peanutbutter- and now FLAVORED!? that I cannot argue with.

Razzle Dazzle– my favorite of all of them! I love raspberry anything and this mix of raspberry and white chocolate was delicious!

Coco Bananas– I’m not much of a Banana person, but Drew is and he said it was delicious! so if you love Bananas- you will love it!

Choco Choco was a delicious mix of PB and Chocolate…loved it!

Cookie Nookie– the name alone let me know I would love this one! I loveeee cookie dough and this had the perfect hint of chocolate chip cookie dough! This was probably my 2nd favorite.

Sunny Day

Yesterday, the weather did this crazy thing… it was really weird.

THE SUN CAME OUT!

AHHH! I am not sure if I could have ever been so excited to see the sun shining in my life. I did a happy little dance and then…

Went for a run! WOO HOO! Drew even came to visit for most of the week so we BOTH went for a run!

It may be cloudy in the back, but I was basking in the glory of the sun coming the other way!

So yay I’m out for a run…but guess who’s out of shape???

Yup. This girl. Holy crap!

The humidity yesterday for sure didn’t help considering I haven’t run in humid weather since…well since last fall…but still I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest the entire run-not a fun feeling! This made me realize that it really doesn’t take long at all to get out of run shape- curses. Also I was super sore from my new body pump routine so that totally didn’t help anything, but I almost passed out DID IT!

After my run, we set out to Β fix Little Blue! And by we I mean I watched Drew do it.Β 

hi little blue! no i haven’t been neglecting you, you were just a little broken and i needed someone to help me- that’s all!

So basically since Drew was visiting..and he was going to help me change Blue’s tire that has needed changed for oohh like 3 weeks..haha oops. but i really didn’t know how to do it so I got a “Flat Tire Lesson”

Drew: “So then you blah blah blah, take this thingy out and put this thingy in and yadda yadda…” (lots of words/parts i don’t really understand…I’m not very handy or am capable of fixing things).

Me: “Don’t worry I understand everything you are saying, and when I’m stranded with a flat in the furthest possible distance of my bike ride- I’ll totally be able to do it all on my own!”

I’m not sure he’s convinced.

Okay so, I might need more practice! But uh, that will come later…

So then Drew and I went to ANOTHER bike shop yesterday (we know how to party). and then we went to the movies to see The Avengers! Which was awesome! If you haven’t seen it please do! I love Robert Downey, JR. he was so great in it. It was totally funny in unexpected spots!

Anyways- Today on Drew and I’s list is to go down to Inner Harbor in Baltimore! It’s only about an hour from where I live and I haven’t been in a few years so I’m really excited! Also I think the sun will be shining again!!

Sleepy Monday and Weekend Recap

Hi everyone! I trust you all had a good weekend and a Happy Mother’s Day! I had a great weekend, got to spend some good time with Drew and his family for his graduation and then got to spend time with my mom for mother’s day.

A little recap of the weekend:

Friday I drove 2 hours to Drew’s parent’s house and went up to our college (another 2 hours from there) for his Master’s Grad Ceremony (Note: they all walked and got hooded but still have 3.5 more months of grad school…why they do this- I don’t know!)

He was sooo excited to be “hooded” as they are for their masters. The ceremony was about an hour and half, not too bad.

The ceremony got over at 8:30 and then we all did a Wawa stop and headed home..by the time we got home it was about 11 and we were all super exhausted from all the traveling.

The next day Drew and I decided to go to a bike shop because I needed some tubes for my tires. ( I have needed to change my one tire since my last race…3 weeks ago…whoops). Some couples go to the movies- we like to go to bike shops. #bikenerds!

When we the left the shop I literally said “I just really want some frozen yogurt for lunch” and Drew said “You’re in luck” and pulled right into one. BEST DAY EVER!!!!!! We don’t have these fro yo shops where I live since its not very city like. Drew lives right outside Philadelphia where I swear they have EVERYTHING and I’m always so jealous. Don’t get me wrong I do love (most of the time) the little country-ish area I’m from but sometimes I just want some fro yo…or to not have to travel so far for actual good shopping….anyways..moving on to the best part!

Just guess which one is mine and which is Drew’s. I bet you’ll never know….

I had 3 different types of yogurt: coconut, caramel pretzel, and chocolate…YUMMMM! The coconut was to die for! I topped it with a few strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries and then OF COURSE sprinkles and heath bar pieces! ANDDDD squeezable Nutella!!!! probably the best part!

And FYI, that was a healthy lunch. It had fruit in it. πŸ˜‰

The next day I went to a one of my BFF’s and former roommate’s going away party! She’s moving to Florida! I will miss her dearly!

But she needs not worry…I’ll be visiting πŸ™‚ We went to Key West a few years ago together. Best. Time. Ever!Β If you have never been to Key West- put it on your bucket list! We can’t wait to go back sometime!

So, needles too say there were some lots of indulgences this weekend and I’m am pretty eager to get back on track and really get to work on my run plan. My work schedule is nearly as hectic this week! Although while he has a mini-break from school Drew will be visiting! Which is awesome because since I graduated we only get to see each other like 2 days every month! BOO! We are going to try to do some fun things like visit Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and lots of bike rides and fun stuff like that. I hope you all have a great start to your week!
