Morning Wake-Up Call

Good Morning everyone! I trust you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I had a good but exhausting one! I am sure a lot of you know about Tone It Up’s Booty Calls and I think this workout is a good one to wake you up on this sleepy little Monday morning. If you do this workout-lemme know how it goes!

As I told you before, I went up to my college for a little field hockey reunion!I had a great weekend catching up with all my old college teammates/roommates. Since graduating we all have been off and running in different directions, so catching up on everyone’s lives was a must.

Some pretty ladies!

Our alumni field hockey game was great! Even after a year- we all seemed to still be able to play well together- just maybe a little rusty 😉 We scored some goals and even scored on the ‘young bucs’ who are current players! 😉 BUT, let’s just say we also have never felt like such old women by the third game! We were all hurtinggg and we all wondered how we were able to do that for years and years! Field hockey can put quite the stress on your lower back and all that squatting and running kills your booty! This is why we all have big  (muscular) butts- seriously.

Let’s just say- second day soreness…curse you. I thought it was bad yesterday- but waking up today was absolutely painful…as I’m sitting at work I’m doing this…in hot pink compression socks and khakis.. I am not ashamed…

my poor, poor plantar faciitis-ed feet (yes- NOT a word..i know) never felt so good for them to be NUMB.

My feet are in the most pain I think, my plantar faciitis flares up after a lot of running and sprinting…think of a bunch of rubber bands being stretched to the max…thats what it feels like when I try and walk around- not kidding I almost fell over this morning when getting out of bed.

Needless to say- I will be taking the day off and HOPEFULLY will be doing some sort of workout tomorrow… so, what to do on my off day?

What do you all do on your off day? Active recovery like walking the dog or do you like to sit on your bum? I feel like I’ll be doing the latter.

Whatever you’re doing today- make it great!

Beach Body Circuit

Happy Friday Everybody! As we all know- it’s almost May and that means we are closer and closer to beach and swimsuit season! So for you today I have a Beach Body circuit that can get you ready for that suit!

All you need are couple weights! If you complete this, let me know below! Give me some feedback!

I’m pretty excited for this weekend. I am going up to my college I graduated from and having a little reunion with my field hockey team!

We are playing in tournament as an alumni team and I’m extremely excited. It’s rare that I get to play field hockey anymore so getting together with my college BFF’s is the perfect thing to do this weekend. I think the weather is even supposed to be decent!

Also, I even get to spend some time with this guy!

Don’t judge him for the pic with flamingos! We were at sea world and I made him pose.

What are you all up to this weekend? Who is running/cycling or relaxing? Whatever you’re doing hope it’s good 🙂

Great Run and NikePlus Fail

Yesterday I had a FANTASTIC run! It was gorgeous out-perfect running weather! It was sunny with a nice breeze, you know that long-sleeve-and-shorts-type of running weather. My favorite kind! The run itself felt effortless, I was able to keep a good pace and not feel like my lungs would explode.

Before I hit a mile into it, I got one of those messages from my Nike Plus:

“You are well on your way to beating your one mile goal, pick a powersong and smash it!”

This totally motivated me to move my butt!

And so I’m trucking it..and…I hear nothing for a while..why didn’t it tell me? Whatever, I must have just missed it because a car went by..I felt good and I didn’t want to stop and fiddle with my phone.

So I’m running….Okayyy, so then I really hear nothing for a while…so I take my phone out of my pocket and I’m pretty sure I probably went at least 2 miles already and what does my phone have the nerve to show??

“.87 miles”

Whattttt!!!???? WHATTTTT!??? I probably had my best run/time and IT STOPPED RECORDING!!!??? That’s it. I’m going to punch something.

I know, I know, what did people do when there was none of this GPS technology blah, blah, blah… but seriously…any other day…I was really excited to see what my time and paces were because I have been working on some speed work in order to get those down, however, today would not be that day. Too bad for moi! 😦 I continued on my run, pretty annoyed, but I still finished it strong and felt good.

But, as I’m looking back on the experience, looking for the best of it- I remember that I felt good! Really good! That doesn’t happen often for me when running and this run felt fast and effortless. I know from my normal runs, I probably did about 4 miles and I think I finished in about 36ish minutes, put me in around a 9 minute pace- and for that length of run is a really good pace for me! Maybe I’m finally getting somewhere!??

So, I want to know..do you guys run with a Garmin/GPS watch/use Nike plus- or do you go by your feel on the run? Any of you experience a big fail like me? Sometimes I find the GPS can be encouraging or discouraging depending on how you look at it. What about you?

Exercise at work

Ah yesterday… I woke up at 6am to go to work- it was very cold (like 30 degrees-ah!) and windy, so because my job at the golf course depends on weather I called to see if they wanted me to definitely come in.
What’s that? No they don’t? Sweet I’m staying in my warm bed. I’m also so sore from my interval run and body pump that I can barely move anyways.

Another hour later- what’s that? They want me to come in now? What, it’s sunny!? Argh …. So there i go into work.

Work was less than exhilarating. I was just sleeping sitting at my chair waiting for customers and I decided I needed to get off my butt!

What did I decide do to pass the time? Squats, lunges, tricep dips on my chair, wall push-ups, side leg raises, and I would have EVEN done burpees if the floor wasn’t gross old concrete. I even threw some cardio moves like high knees and butt kickers in there.

Yup, I did squats- butt to the chair!

I instantly felt energized and thought wow maybe I should do this when I wake up instead of the whole coffee thing… Wait- nah who am I kidding- that’s not gonna happen. 😉 I’ve realized that this is definitely something I’m going to incorporate from now on- instead of feeling all sluggish and tired once my caffeine wears off.

Now I know, not everyone has my kind of “job” that’s kind of on there own and they’re not very busy, but how many of you exercise at work? When and what do you do? Butt clenches at your desk? Or do you exercise on your lunch hour? Does it give you that little boost you need? Let me know- I might need some new ideas!

And I shall leave you with a picture of a cute puppy who wanted to nap with me!
